The Uncreated 2019

The Uncreated was a festival held in Houston celebrating and creating a space for local small businesses and artists. I was happy to share a small project/installation I worked on summer 2019; "Hands and Flowers". The festival was full of love and sense of community as everyone supported each other through out the whole day.

Hands and Flowers

This project was a study about connection; and how our hands and flowers play an essential part in that. There are many ways we can have a connection with others, but as long as I can remember I've always been infatuated with hands and flowers.  How hands are mostly likely our first connection/ exchange with family, friends, acquaintances, lovers, and strangers. How flowers can be so simple, but can remind you of people, places, and memories.

All the images in the series were captured by polaroids and transferred into glass. Flowers were placed with the glass pieces on the table covered with silk cloth, I thought looking down and interacting with the flowers would help build connection and intimacy with the work.
